Who We Are
The Solstice Foundation is a volunteer based registered non-profit organisation. We aim to Brighten the Lives of those in need in the broader communities in which we live. Through our business and social networks, we can mobilise resources efficiently to tackle our chosen projects. In all of our activities we target zero administration expenses. Our Patron of Honour is Archbishop Emeritus Desmond Tutu.
About Us
On the 19th of January 2002, as a result of some mid-life soul searching, David Burton embarked on a mission to enlist support for the formation of a Foundation to combat benevolence inertia and to Brighten the Lives of South Africans living in less than ideal conditions by circulating a letter to friends and colleagues.
Fundraising
Covid 19 dealt a blow to our fundraising efforts, but thanks to the core Solstice supporters who donate on an ongoing basis and corporates such as Futuregrowth, The Mapula Trust and Viadata, we were able to respond with numerous food parcel drives to some of our beneficiaries. Thanks to all who contributed.
